This series is awesome. I swear to god, I'm about switch from Cox to Comcast to get OLN (and WWE 24/7 :-D). My brother watched the game and gave me a good play by play. The Sabres remind me alot of the GMU basketball team. A group that together is better than the sum of its parts. Players like Daniel Brierre, Chris Drury, and Teppo Numminen were cast-offs from other teams. But they have become leaders for a great set of young players built through the draft like G Ryan Miller, Jason Pominville, Ales Kotilik, Derek Roy, and a host of others. Its a nice mix, and Coach Lindy Ruff is a non-nonsense former defensemen who is the perfect general for a no-name army. Ruff might not work for a team laden with stars, but Buffalo is a true team.
And how about Edmonton? If its Edmonton-Buffalo, Mike Peca and Dwayne Roloson both played for Buffalo and were bounced out. Would be interesting? But I think if its Buffalo or Carolina, the East will win the Cup. I don't Edmonton is deep enough for either of these teams, who can swarm the ice with three lines that can skate like the wind and score.
Great anecdote: "OLN hockey broadcaster John Davidson reported Sabres coach Lindy Ruff left his cell phone charger at his hotel in Raleigh on Sunday. When the hotel offered to mail it to him, Ruff replied that he'd pick it up on Wednesday." (read the whole article at cnnsi.com)
LETS GO BUFFALO!
