11th District Debate
From Raising Kaine:
Naturely I'm biased in Fimian's direction, but this was a good debate showing for him. Emphasised his small business background and stumped hard for tax cuts and a free enterprise solution to health care costs. Byrne is Byrne, nothing new there. Doug Denneny is quite impressive and I would think he could be a stronger candidate in any other year. And yes, good 'ol Gerry Connolly dodged this debate even though Vienna is near the heart of his old Providence district that he represented. It really shows a sense of great arrogance that Connolly couldn't find the time to take on his opponents and talk to the voters. But the more I see and hear of Fimian, the more I like him.
Doug does have some really good things I think he could bring to the table. In addition to the talent and popularity of the candidates he's going up against, I think one of his big problems is that he's unfortunately surrounded himself with some campaign staffers who are quickly pissing off a lot of grassroots activists by launching smear campaigns against anyone who supports another candidate.
That being said, I do hope Doug sticks around. His knowledge on military issues could be very beneficial to the Democratic Party.

Bryan, it looks like you're the only one the campaign has gone after - and you weren't going to support Denneny anyway.
Quite crying.

Why is a Bahstan ditz running for Congress. What an accent - and it's not Southern.
Don't mean to be rude, but I look at all three of the Dems who spoke here and was reminded of my Sesame Street - one of these three clearly doesn't belong.
She's in Vienna at the Chamber of Commerce saying people shouldn't be alowed to build big houses in the suburbs? Who does she think she's talking to?
She talks about forcing developers to pay more. Has she never heard of the Dylan Rule? Probably not, she hasn't been in NoVA long enough.
She says her first language is actually French? She should go work for John Kerrey.

Maybe we could start a grassroots Republican movement to get Lori Alexander the nomination. Keith is running unopposed for the Republican nomination so that frees us up. And it would be much easier running against her in November.

We have two Bahstan ditzes in this race, Bruce. It's just that one of them didn't bother show up to the debate. Why should he bother? The loyal party Democrats in Fairfax will line up to vote for him like good thoughtless sheeple. Welcome to Baa- baa- baa- baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa - stan.

With the revelations that Gerry Connely takes money from terrorists, he's looking like an easy target.
can you imagine what the NRCC can do with that!

I tend to view the "money from terrorists" argument with quite a bit of skepticism. Thos ewho make those accusations are often inconsistent in its applications.
As far as Keith Fimian is concerned, he is in fact a very good candidate, andhis delivery gets better and better. However, don't take Connolly for granted. Gerry Connolly is a very good debater, and Fimian will have to point to Connolly's mismanagement of the budget as well as the obvious Clinton or Obama tax hikes for which Connolly would surely vote.
