WEC 34: Faber vs. Pulver

World Extreme Cagefighting, which is owned by UFC and operated as something of a Triple A operation, is putting on a big fight tonight.  Ignore the Kimbo Slice nonesense, that wasn't real MMA fighitng.  Tune in on Versus tonight to watch a legend take on the next big thing.  Urijah Faber, aka "The California Kid," is perhaps the best fighter not in the UFC, mostly because the UFC doesn't have a featherweight division.  Faber is the WEC champion and considered one of the best fighters in the world.  He's young, exciting, and kind of quirky.  He is big into holistic medicine.  His opponent is a UFC legend, "Lil Evil" Jens Pulver.  Pulver is a former UFC light heavyweight champion who has defeated names like B.J. Penn and Dennis Hallman.  Pulver is older than Faber, will prove to be Faber's biggest challenge yet in his career.  They match up well and this should be a classic.  So if you were put-off by the nonesense of EliteXC last night on CBS (Kimbo Slice would get annahilated by a good UFC heavyweight like Tim Sylvia, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira, Frank Mir, or Heath Herring), tune into Versus to watch a real fight between real fighters . . . Faber and Pulver.
