Sounds like an exciting idea to me!
The Politico article also mentions that a lot of young state leaders starting to assert themselves in the national party including our very own Bob McDonnell!
But what excites me about Michael Steele is the diversity he brings to the party, and proof that people of color (see Bobby Jindal and JC Watts) are tremendous conservatives. One of the offshoots of Obama's election is that I think minority voters might begin to take part in the two-party system more and more as long as the outreach is there. Rebuilding and outreach based on our conservative values is the winning idea, and as black voters in California proved, they are not tied to the radical leftist social agenda. Its important that Republicans, in the course of rebuilding, make gains to every American constituency and Steele has the ability to do just that.
Steele, while an excellent public speaker, is a Big Gubmint Republican. Witness his relentless trashing of Ron Paul during the primaries. He'd be tremendous for Maryland, but as a chairman of the national party? No thanks.

Really?
Your measuring stick for RNC chairman is how someone treated Ron Paul?
