I don't have the precinct by precinct breakdown, but I do know that Keith Fimian fought an extraordinary race against a very accomplished politician in an incredible Democratic year in Virginia. Fimian exposed many of the flaws in Gerry Connolly, taking him on in ways too many Republicans in Fairfax have simply refused to do. With Tom Davis gone from the scene, I am wondering and hoping to see if Keith Fimian will not simply be a one-time candidate but rise to a place of leadership in the local party and work to build the resources and the message of our brand. Sometimes it takes a run or two before a candidate finally wins. I hope that Fimian sticks it out and runs again in 2010 when Connolly will have to defend the actions of his party instead of attacking those of the other. Besides, other than Tim Hugo who else do we have?
If the race taught us anything, it is that Gerry Connolly is weaker in the 11th than he thinks. Fimian did an excellent job and could make another go for it, but I think it is time to drop the Old Guard of the Party and bring in new blood on all fields. It might be a quick shot back to the top, then again it could be a little while. Either way, we need to move forward.

Who do we have? What are you doing in two years?

Preparing to rally the base and start my own campaign to return Virginia to the proper way of governance. Keep watching the internet. Republicanism is on its way back.
