Tom White

I have been saying this is the best Republican Ticket at least since Allen, perhaps ever. This plan is brilliant. There are more to come.

But putting out great stuff like this is not helping the debate issue. I'd run too, if I were Deeds.

Freedom Fighter

I have been thinking to myself for a while "Virginia should start tolling!" This is a really great plan! Stuff like this proved how dedicated Bob is to Virginia...and where is Deeds?

Pissed off

Tolling roads? How is that helping the poor people trying to get out and find jobs? How is that better than adding 4 cents to the gas tax? Typically a 25 gallon fill up would cost a dollar more, charge 75 cents toll for coming and going theres a 1.50. But I guess you need the additional revenue to install toll booths, pay for attendants or ezpass technology. Here's an idea charge a fee to use the rest areas, depending on the length of stay. Politics will be politics but until they stop looking at what can I do for me and my friends, while looking good to the media by trying to help out the little people. I mean come on, privitize the ABC stores. Why not make drive through liquor stores that way people don't need to exit the vehicle, they can be burning gas while in line and then hit the open road after recieving provisions. It's all a joke. If you really want to win don't patronize people. We all have to live with the decisions our represenatives make, like them or not. But if we don't invest in changes that work, whats the point? Look busy for your term and leave it for the next guy. That seems to be the American way. In summation, focus on innovation, don't waste money drilling offshore, tolls are not the answer, realize NOVA and Hampton Roads are in completely different categories than the majority of the state, and simply talk to people, not campaign contributors but the people that do the work, travel these bad roads daily, the average man can be wiser than the elder, it all depends on their experiences and awareness.

independent voter

Don't fool yourself with even trying to win votes on a transportation agenda. The Republicans have lost every voter who will vote based on trasportation. None of these suggestions will solve the problem. I've never seen a political party make such poor decisions as making VDOT their poster child for bad state government. Its state government, wake up. VDOT is more efficient than the General Assembly and you can take that to the bank.
