I cannot WAIT for this fight on September 19. Floyd Mayweather returns to boxing after a year and a half layoff to reclaim his pound for pound status and eyeing a showdown with Manny Pacquiao. But first, Mayweather needs a comeback fight and he picked a real doozy. Juan Manuel Marquez is a throwback fighter, an old-school Mexican warrior who has fought some of the best in the world and won. But he is best known for his two epic wars with Manny Pacquiao where he won more combined rounds but lost on a draw and a split decision (I've watched both, I gave the first fight to Pacquiao but the second fight to Marquez). He's experienced, smart, has a great jab, and is a top 5 pound for pound fighter in the world. This fight is interesting because of Mayweather's time off and because of the way Marquez has changed his game after the two Pacquiao fights. There is also going to be a interesting contrast in personalities. Mayweather is flashy "Pretty Boy" Floyd, Floyd Money Mayweather. He's know to hand out hundred dollar bills, he drives Rolls Royces, has a bigger than life personality. Marquez is the quiet, humble, Mexican fighter in the mold of Julio Cesar Chavez who doesn't talk a big game but brings one in the right. Its pretty clear to me that Mayweather will sell this fight, but Marquez will make it.
A lot is on the line here. For Marquez, its a chance at immortality in the annals of Mexican fighting history - and boxing itself - which means a lot if you come from that country. It also means he will get the chance, if he wins, to fight Pacquiao one more time. For Mayweather, the fight couldn't be bigger, its hard to see how he would be able to come back from a loss, and very little chance at creating the fight of the decade against Pacquiao.
I'm torn on who to root for. My heart says Marquez, I love the way he fights and I love his old-school personality and style. But for boxing? Seeing Floyd Mayweather back, seeing greatness resurrect itself one more time, and the chance at the first truly decade-defining fight on the same level as Leanard-Haggler and De La Hoya-Trinidad. What boxing has been lacking in the 2000s hasn't been great fights, but BIG fights - true spectacles of fighters at their best. If Pacquiao can beat Miguel Cotto and Mayweather stop Juan Manuel Marquez it will set up one of the greatest fights in boxing history.

Part 4
I still think de la Hoya won the fight in 2007, but I've been a HUGE Mayweather fan from the start. What a great boxer... welterweight is where boxing is truly an art; Mayweather proves it.
Besides, there hasn't been a truly great heavyweight fight since Lewis vs. Klitschko back in what... 2002?

Yeah, I think Marquez is the wrong guy for Mayweather to come back against, but I give him credit. He should have gone with someone like Paulie Malinaggie or someone like that. Marquez is an absolute beast but I can't help my be rooting for Mayweather just so next year we could have Pacquiao vs. Mayweather.

Same here guys! Marquez is too small for Mayweather. Mayweather said that Marquez is the one who called him. Yes, let us say the Marquez is the one who called but Mayweather should be aware that time the there's a big mismatched between them. I don't wanna think this but I think Mayweather don't wanna fight fighters who thinks can beat him! He's a number one Gay Boxer!

Yes, Floyd Mayweather, Jr. indeed proved that he's back and that he's near the top of boxing's food chain once again. He outclassed a very game Marquez and thoroughly showed that he was at a different level by dismantling the Mexican fighter, getting more than half of his punches in, and showing impeccable defense.
But I believe that it's too early to say that he's once again back to his top P4P throne because Marquez was an awful fighter that night. Though Mayweather was insanely "good", Marquez's terrible showing made him appear insanely "great".
Juan Manuel Marquez was biting off more than he could chew in terms of Mayweather's towering skill, speed, size, and defense. Marquez, apart from being slower, older, and weaker, lacked the following, which further led to his downfall:
1. Head movement - His face was always a sitting duck for Mayweather's hands.
2. Good footwork/movement - He didn't show different angles to Mayweather. Heck, he didn't move much at all and coupled with no head movement, made him a non-moving target for a very fast and accurate Mayweather.
3. Mix-up of combinations - At any one time, he either chose to go to the head or to the body. He didn't mix combinations and his attack was thus very predictable for the defense of Mayweather.
All of these, I believe, would be taken care of by Manny Pacquiao and his great trainer and tactician, Freddie Roach. Pacquiao is like a bobblehead with his head movement, extremely elusive as he showed with his fight against Oscar dela Hoya, and mixes up his combinations very well, especially with his unparalleled hand speed.
Pacquiao-Mayweather will be one of, if not the greatest fight in all of boxing and will once and for all prove who the #1 P4P boxer of this generation is!

Those are all the details you'll get here, except that to say the plot merely thickens as the movie progresses does not do the ingenious story justice. Blomkamp was born and raised in South Africa under the shadow of apartheid, but he doesn't push the obvious metaphors inherent in District 9's premise. They're just there for those who want them. This is a wildly unpredictable and original movie that melds stock sci-fi elements into something fresh and exciting and new.
