Ken Cuccinelli's lawsuit against the health care law is going to move forward, according to Judge Henry Hudson who issued a ruling that the commonwealth does have grounds to proceed with its lawsuit.
Its official, right now the most influential politician in Virginia is the Attorney General - who is coming off a remarkable profile in the Washington Post. Its Cuccinelli who's setting the table for our politics right now. He's overshadowing both the governor and lieutenant governor. That is not to say that those two gentleman aren't being paid attention too, I believe they are doing serious on the ground grunt work the build jobs that will be much appreciated by the folks come 2013.
Unlike Loudoun Insider, I do not believe that Cuccinelli has his sights set on being governor of Virginia. For the things he wants to do, he wants more than the simple power of signing or vetoing bills. Cuccinelli wants to be a firestarter on national issues, and our governorship is not built for that kind of career. I suspect Ken will stick it out at AG and have to run against either Steve Shannon or possibly Tom Perriello whether he wins or loses. If he really wants to make a splash and have a say in these national issues, the United States Senate is a more logical place for him to be.
Still, a great day for people who love liberty, choice, and the ability to care for yourself and your family without the government or the IRS involved.
This is two wins for the Cooch today. He also won the first hurdle against the Obama's Healthcare scam.
Obama must be feeling like Barney just franked him.
You go Cooch!

One way or another Cooch is setting himself up for something other than AG. And if you don't believe that, you've spent too much time inhaling the rarified air of the blogosphere.
Don't get too carried away with this win. Ultimately, his case is a clear loser. I hope I'm wrong, but, unfortunately, I never am.

I agree with your post that he will stay with the AG position for another turn. Why move when he's having such an impact where he's at?
