In an interview, Ms. Radtke said she decided to run after watching Congress pass legislation during this month’s lame duck session, including a package of tax cuts, that added to the national debt.
“It has become clear that many in Congress still don’t get it,” she said. “The tax bill did nothing to cut the huge debt burden on all of us.”
Hmmmmm . . . its going to be very interesting.
Well, I give her an A+ for honesty about the tax bill. She may be the only Republican candidate or office holder in the country who isn't pretending that the tax bill wasn't a budget buster. For far too long Republicans have been one note Charlies about cutting taxes as if that were the panacea that cures all ills. Hell, these charlatans even called themselves fiscal conservatives while fighting two wars on credit AND cutting taxes at the same time. There is nothing fiscally conservative about that!
If she is honest enough to level with the voters and tell them that we need to address spending and we can't cut taxes that are already at historically low levels if we hope to address the deficit and debt, then she may be worthy of a vote.
Does she realize she is running for the REPUBLICAN nomination? They haven't been a fiscally conservative party in decades. If she is elected she will be completely out of step with the GOP.
