Mark Levin is the most outspoken of the Right in insisting that we embrace all conservatism, not simply choose between candidates from various "wings" of the party. And right now, our candidates each represent one slice of the conservative diaspora: Bachmann is the tea party, Romney and Cain are business, Huntsman is establishment, Santorum is pro life, Paul is libertarian, Gingrich is intellectual. But none, thus far, have been able to embrace all facets of the conservative movement. We argue with each other over what is more important, that we should make a truce on social issues, that "purity is a loser." I agree that purity is a loser, but conservative principles are not.
Rick Perry is not only a total conservative - every movement is represented in him - but he has a 10 year record in Texas of implementing conservatism. And what are the results? Low unemployment, 47% of all new jobs in the last two years were created in Texas, serious tort reform, low taxes, and a general pro-business atmosphere. On top of accomplishments, Perry also had an basic intellectual message built solely on the 10th amendment. His vision is states leading America, and in free market competition with each other. Perry wrote in Fed Up! that if California wants to have gay marriage, they should be allowed to have it. If Massachusetts or Vermont wants universal health care, they should have it. But the people will speak with their feet, and its true. Compare the three liberal states against the three conservative - California, Illinois, and New York vs. Texas, Florida, and Virginia. Its not even close which ones are surviving the Obama recession better.
Unlike any of the other candidates, Perry has both a well defined ideology and vision and an actual record to back it up, AND practically he is a proven politician who can win and raise serious money. And he's not afraid to fight. He won't hedge here or there, won't grant the left any ground on policy, and he certainly won't run away from the greatness of our country. When I look at Rick Perry, I see someone I don't have to compromise to vote for. I don't have to say, "eh, at least he's for >insert generic conservative issue<, even though he's against >insert generic conservative issue<"
And I don't know about you, but this speech sounds like someone who will run for president:
Rick Perry is already the President. All we need to do is hoist the Lone Star over the South Lawn and send the current resident off to a golf camp.
Marco Rubio is the VP. Biden is somewhere in an alternative universe where stupid is considered cool.

The Texas economy is doing relatively well despite Perry, not because.
Perry:
(1) has been reprimanded and fined for ethic’s violations
(2) uses eminent domain to take the people’s land to hand it over to foreign investors so they can build toll roads,
(3) has pushed for an unsafe sexually transmitted disease vaccination for 10 year old girls
(4) is a NAFTA supporter.
(5) has allowed Texas to be a sanctuary state to illegal aliens (despite continuously promising to do the opposite)
(6) has failed to uphold 4th Amendment rights by so far refusing to call for reinstating a bill (unanimously passed by the Texas house) that would criminalize TSA grope-downs
(7) instituted a business franchise tax which represents the largest tax increase in Texas history
It's time to grow up and look beyond soundbites lulling us to sleep with the things we want to hear.

Did you catch Perry's speech to the folks at the RightOnline gathering? He reminded them that they could all follow him on "Tweeter". LMAO.
And this is the guy who is your great white hope? The knight in shining armor who is going to come riding in and swoop up the nomination from the clown posse currently seeking it? And then win the general election?
Keep looking. This guy ain't it.

Looks like pressure from the people of Texas has forced Perry to place the anti-TSA groping bill into the special session agenda, yesterday:

Perry would still be a disaster as outline by Michael Snyder at The American Dream:
14 Reasons Why Rick Perry Would Be A Really, Really Bad President
http://endoftheamericandream.com/archives/14-reasons-why-rick-perry-would-be-a-really-really-bad-president
#1 Rick Perry is a "big government" politician. When Rick Perry became the governor of Texas in 2000, the total spending by the Texas state government was approximately $49 billion. Ten years later it was approximately $90 billion. That is not exactly reducing the size of government.
#2 The debt of the state of Texas is out of control. According to usdebtclock.org, the debt to GDP ratio in Texas is 22.9% and the debt per citizen is $10,645. In California (a total financial basket case), the debt to GDP ratio is just 18.7% and the debt per citizen is only $9932. If Rick Perry runs for president these are numbers he will want to keep well hidden.
#3 The total debt of the Texas government has more than doubled since Rick Perry became governor. So what would the U.S. national debt look like after four (or eight) years of Rick Perry?
#4 Rick Perry has spearheaded the effort to lease roads in Texas to foreign companies, to turn roads that are already free to drive on into toll roads, and to develop the Trans-Texas Corridor which would be part of the planned NAFTA superhighway system. If you really do deep research on this whole Trans-Texas Corridor nonsense you will see why no American should ever cast a single vote for Rick Perry.
#5 Rick Perry claims that he has a "track record" of not raising taxes. That is a false claim. Rick Perry has repeatedly raised taxes and fees while he has been governor. Today, Texans are faced with significantly higher taxes and fees than they were before Rick Perry was elected.
#6 Even with the oil boom in Texas, 23 states have a lower unemployment rate than Texas does.
#7 Back in 1988, Rick Perry supported Al Gore for president. In fact, Rick Perry actually served as Al Gore's campaign chairman in the state of Texas that year.
#8 Between December 2007 and April 2011, weekly wages in the U.S. increased by about 5 percent. In the state of Texas they increased by just 0.6% over that same time period.
#9 Texas now has one of the worst education systems in the nation.
#10 Rick Perry attended the Bilderberg Group meetings in 2007. Associating himself with that organization should be a red flag for all American voters.
#11 Texas has the highest percentage of workers making minimum wage out of all 50 states.
#12 Rick Perry often gives speeches about illegal immigration, but when you look at the facts, he has been incredibly soft on the issue. If Rick Perry does not plan to secure the border, then he should not be president because illegal immigration is absolutely devastating many areas of the southwest United States.
#13 In 2007, 221,000 residents of Texas were making minimum wage or less. By 2010, that number had risen to 550,000.
#14 Rick Perry actually issued an executive order in 2007 that would have forced almost every single girl in the state of Texas to receive the Gardasil vaccine before entering the sixth grade. Perry would have put parents in a position where they would have had to fill out an application and beg the government not to inject their child with a highly controversial vaccine. Since then, very serious safety issues regarding this vaccine have come to light. Fortunately, lawmakers in Texas blocked what Perry was trying to do. According to Wikipedia, many were troubled when "apparent financial connections between Merck and Perry were reported by news outlets, such as a $6,000 campaign contribution and Merck's hiring of former Perry Chief of Staff Mike Toomey to handle its Texas lobbying work."

the door, right? Anyway, that does not sleep, went ahead, now fill. Chong Li Jun, Zhang Bin a stare, "you feel it sleeping, do not be that big mouth that you are in, and I want to learn." Then, out

Perry is disgusting. If you are so desperate to beat Obama, you can't see a used car salesman smiling at you, you shouldn't vote.
Posted by: Thomas | June 22, 2011 at 10:19 AM
Thomas, I believe you owe an apology to used car salesmen everywhere. Comparing them to Perry was a low blow.

Perry is weak on immigration. He backed in-state tuition for illegals and he spoke out against the Arizona law. He also signed his own DREAM act in Texas for illegals. We don't want another George Bush and Karl Rove on this issue. He's a panderer to Latinos pure and simple. He's weak.

Chris, you may get your wish. A "usually reliable" Republican source has told the WSJ that Perry is going to run. Plans are to announce later this summer around the time he hosts some sort of prayer hoo haw down in Houston. That will fit nicely with the "I prayed on it and God told me to run" BS that so many of these charlatans insist on spewing.
No word yet on whether Texas will schedule an execution for that day to highlight how Perry is one tough hombre when it comes to crime. But that wouldn't surprise me.
If Perry is elected president (God forbid!) and the Texas legislature then votes to secede from the Union, what will President Perry's position be? Will he "love freedom" and let them go? Or will he be a tyrant and insist on bombing Austin?

Gee, Perry conservative? Right. Ha hah hahhahhahhahha. Forced vacinations in TX on young woman. Did not back vouchers when voting time came. Al Gores TX buddy through 88. What type of loser finds out That being a Democrat is evil at 38 years old? He is a snake oil salesamn like Romney.

Gov. Rick Perry is just another right-wing dunderhead.

Wow ...where do I start..OK...we (the republicans) could put a person in with all liberal/progressive policies or ideas and you all still would not approve!! Really people ...are you better off now than 2.7 years ago?? Black unemployment is double the national unemloyment..young black unemployment is 40%+...you had two years of the presidency and the house and the senate..c'mon...can you honestly say Obama has done a great job?? And for those who still want to blame bush..when will this president finally own this economy?? He has said in the past.."the buck stops here"...but out of the other side of his mouth it's never his fault. I am independent and came to this site to see what Perry has to say..it is obvious that there is a concerted effort to ambush Perry's ideas/beliefs...I'm not sold on the guy...but then again there is no WAY I will vote for Obama again...never...no way.

For those reading who care I am an independent who leans to the right(obviously). I do not think we will ever have the perfect candidate..even Reagan was not as perfect as republican history suggests..heck I would love to have President Clinton back at this time(or even Hillary would have been better)...but Obama will not budge from his core beliefs that government is the answer. I started out as a dishwasher at 15 Y/O and worked my way trough college and now I am a professional making about 130K a year...with no help from anyone. Just hard work and drive..I personally do not see why everyone can't do this if they want to(aside from the disabled)...no one gave me anything. I'm sick of this mentality that "people owe me something"...for what??
Cuz you breathe? Cuz your parents had relations that you were a product of?? I want a president that promotes the idea of exceptionalism or reward for hard work...not everyone should be equal cuz it's fair. Why should I pay all the taxes while my deadbeat brother in law sits at home and collects unemployment for two years?? Get off your butt's people and do something...don't wait for someone to help you!!
