Ben & Co are sure creative, I'll give them that. And Chap Petersen? Has to be one of the all-time "take one for the team" moves I've ever heard of tonight in Bonnie Brae.
I'll have more on this probably tomorrow or the weekend, but tonight at the Bonnie Brae forum we have finally seen the lengths Ben & Co are going to keep Janet Oleszek from being exposed to voter interaction. Even when the campaign manager is tweeting good things, its just a cover. Even when Blue Virginia is touting good things, its just a cover. But tonight? Wow.
So let me set this up. At the insistence of Oleszek's campaign, tonight's Bonnie Brae forum was to be thirty uninterrupted minutes for whatever they wanted. A speech, maybe some Q & E, perhaps some sort of presentation? Whatever you want. Oh, and apparently the Oleszek campaign ALSO wanted all staff and supporters of the opposing candidate to be banned during said thirty minutes. Luckily, adults run this forum and said that was ridiculous.
So what did Janet do with her time?
She created a talk show.
A talk show.
That's right.
After recycling through her memorized talking points, Janet created a talk show forum with Chap Petersen, Megan McLaughlin, and a supporter. And said supporter asked prepared questions for Janet to respond with prepared answers. Not one single voter at the public forum was allowed to ask Janet a question. The reasoning must have come from the West Sprinfield forum the other night where apparently Janet was being eaten alive by simple questions - to the point that the Oleszek people accused Cook of plants. Here is the picture I got from someone there:
Chap looks pissed he's missing the Caps-Pens game (good guys won in OT, btw). Megan has to be thinking that this farce could cost her her election. And here's another good one
I know that look of Chap's. That's the I-bored-at-church lean.
Can we finally just come to a consensus that this campaign is a disaster. They have a candidate who does not know the issues running a campaign based on doing everything they can to keep her from actually interacting with voters. She didn't know the different between local and state pensions, refuses to support local control for local rights while attacking Cook for not doing enough for roads when he can't (thanks to the Dillon Rule), and now created an elaborate talk show to do everything to manufacture competence when all it does is is expose further incompetence. The Washington Post endorsed Cook, and I know that killed them to do it. I mean - can we just agree that this is an embarrassment for Fairfax county?
Chap's body language says it all - how much longer do we have to be here!
Hilarious! I still cannot believe they nominated this loon.

It looks like the zest has gone out of her lemon bars.

Ron, please explain this joke you're trying to make happen.

From what I heard, Janet Oleszek's greatest contribution to School Board meetings were her baked goods (certainly not her intellect). So I selected lemon bars randomly. More silliness than anything else.

Isophorone, Might the truth be that you watch "The Bold and Beautiful" where a nice lady served poison Lemon Bars to a rival?

Miss "O" is the perfect Democrat. She is who Gerry Connolly and other progressives really are under their masks. Her problem is that she is honest and unbridled.
Oleszek is what you get when you vote for any Democrat. Just one of many flavors of the same nasty collectivists that all Democrats have become. If people like Oleszek were in charge, we'd all be paupers in work camps struggling to survive.
