Hey, its a growing city and greater metropolis that wants to build a new arena. Its a swing part of a swing state that will be important for the next generation of elections. Delegates will enjoy the weather and location, I think its a no-brainer. I actually like that both parties chose sites for their conventions that aren't typical - not New York or Chicago or Los Angeles. Four years ago was Denver and St. Paul, this year it's Charlotte and Tampa Bay. I think Virginia Beach, the largest city in Virginia, would be the perfect spot for the next Republican National Convention.
As long as the hotel selection is better than what Charlotte has to offer (at least according to what I've read).
