Is this doable?
Seriously. From all indications this ran incredibly well, did not cost the taxpayers a single dime, and turnout was heavy. John Whitbeck and his team on the 10th CD may have just stumble upon the answer to our problems as a party. Thank goodness for Barbara Comstock's daughter's wedding, I guess. It could use some tinkering, but the two things I liked most about it was that one, it is run by the party at no expense to the taxpayer; and two, it was on a Saturday so nobody got screwed by traffic or work. The major kink that needs to be worked out is figuring out a way to vote absentee. Basically I would like to see the party canvass become a private party primary. Also, if this was going to be done at a statewide level the hours would have to be longer.
Nobody can complain about this. Pro-primary people didn't have to sit in a high school gym for six hours waiting to figure this out and pro-convention people got a process run by the party. Because that really is the crux of the matter isn't it? Lets hope RPV thinks about this.
