“These are not debates, these are auditions. By definition, the psychology of an audition reduces the person auditioning and raises the status, for example, of Chris Matthews... I have no interest in the current political process. I have no interest in trying to figure out how I can go out and raise money under John McCain’s insane censorship rules so I can show up to do seven minutes and twenty seconds at some debate.” —Newt Gingrich

I would not count on that alliance just yet.

Thompson is an empty candidate with no ideas of his own. Maybe that will change.

Suggesting Gingrich would infuse the Thompson campaign with "the greatest untapped resource of conservative ideas and philosophy in the country" tells us what we already know: Thompson is a hollow candidate with nothing but purported star-power.

At some point, Thompson will have to formally enter this race and articulate his ideas. Many of Thompson’s recent appearances suggest he has nothing more than generic Republican platitudes and sound bites designed to comfort Republicans unsettled with the current crop of candidates. Studying up with Gingrich may be big help; after all, Thompson is supposed to be good at memorizing lines, right?

Hmm...a guy who divorces his wife when she has cancer, another guy who gets divorced and marries a teenager, and also LOVES abortion...conservative family values abound on that ticket.

George Templeton

Yes his voting record in the Senate (100 percent rating from National Right to Life) must mean he really loves abortion. Are you guys really that scared of Arthur Branch?
