I've tried to stay away from the Yellow Dog controversy because, really, I didn't care that much. Naturally, linking to NAMBLA is dispicable considering what that group stands for and everyone who's ever done business with Mr. Stanley should be examined for their judgement. But I try not get in the middle of this stuff unless it concerns me, and I'm not a terrible active member of the ODBA.
But Carl Kilo's link to this fascinating article by Chris Graham caught my attention. This quote especially:
To that point, about Tribbett coming across to me as being well-meaning, I don’t know that Tribbett asked me to comment on one other matter that he indicated in his e-mail to me that he planned to cover on his blog - “Finally, I am planning to seek comments from statewide Democratic candidates on whether they would ever feel comfortable talking to you again,” Tribbett wrote.
Given my lengthy record of work in covering Democrats, Republicans, liberals and moderates and conservatives, political scientists, think-tankers, bloggers and everybody in between in print and on the web, I can only hope that their answers are in the affirmative
I get the feeling that there is some sort of coverup going on here, why else would Ben make such an outrageous threat? And a larger question, what does it say about Democrats in Virginia if they let a blogger and a consultant tell them who is good enough to talk too. In the end, this is further proof of the "maccacaing" of Virignia politics. Ben broke that story and was out ahead of every slime attack on Geroge Allen, and it worked. Now, from my view, it seems like politicians are so scared of what blogs can do, and guys like Ben clearly understand this and attempt to exploit it openly. Chris Graham did nothing wrong here, just solid reporting. There were no judgements made, he gave the facts, attempted to get both sides. You can read the entire article HERE.
Good move by Graham in outing Ben's veiled threat, not sure how else he can go after him.
